Today on North Hill was the type of day why you remember why you love this sport! It was awesome! Blue skies and fresh trails. Thank you, Bernie & Paul, for going out today to make it so sweet. And thank you, Bernie & Bernie, for doing Okemo yesterday.
North Hill side (127A/127B) were groomed today, including the Feeder Trail down to 103 (formerly to Darcy's), the East Lake Rd access trail, and Highland Views. The trail to Calcutta's is ungroomed.
We're off to a good start. Just remember the snow is light and fluffy and we still have essentially thin cover. There can be surprise rocks and the deeper water bars and not fully filled in. Plus, as more riders enter the trails, it will be easy for the trails to get the snow kicked off of them. Please tread lightly so we can keep what snow we have for as long as we can.
Okemo side (127, 7, and 7A to Yale Rd) was done yesterday except from RD78 to Healdville Rd.
Some things to note on Okemo side:
From RD78 (the "T" where 127 connects to 7) to Healdville Rd:
Remains ungroomed.
There is report of fallen trees between RD78 and the last bridge heading toward Station Rd. Trees should hopefully get cleaned up on Thursday.
Logging is also going on on 7 in the area of Healdville Rd.
Proceed in this area with extra caution.
RD79 on 7A to Yale Rd is thin cover but is groomed.
Thank you volunteer groomer operators and trail crew for setting us up!
Time to get back in the saddle! Send pics!
